It's not uncommon for people to read our books and think that this can't be real. Unfortunately, it's all too real. The more you know about the Troubled Teen Industry, the more angry it will make you, especially knowing it still goes on today. While we are not publishing the treasure trove of documents we have on the program we went through due to the deal we made with the Church that once ran it (a deal that ensures our safety, remember, we have to deal with the Zelots and live with the consiquences, you don't...), we feel it is importiant to share with you as much of the research that is available as we know of.
We wish to give a special shout-out to Mr. Joe Nobody, author of the elan.school web comic. While Elan was very different from the Island, reading his comic is part of what inspired me to write the first (very bad) poetry book that eventually became Fall of the Guardians.
